That Mint Christmas Special

It’s Christmaaaas! And we’re back with the last episode of 2020. To celebrate, we’ve stuffed it full of festive jokes, a mince pie taste test, and some creative (non) advice on how to spend your Christmas budget!

With a mug of mulled wine, a cheeky box of chocolates, and my Christmas jumper at the ready, I was super excited to get cosy and listen to this month’s episode – It may be the effects of the wine, or I may just be biased, but this is without a doubt one of my favourite episodes.

Cathi and Jo talk all things seasonal, including the current advent calendar shortage, the true meaning of Christmas, and why we feel the need to keep up with the millions of Joneses. Not only that, but Jo has some wise thoughts on how a global pandemic might change some of our usual Christmas traditions, and Cathi summarises that actually, all you need this year is non imaginary food and a bit of consciousness!

M&S or Aldi? And does it make any difference? In this episode’s game, Cathi and Jo take one for the team and judge pies by their pastry and cake by their icing in a Christmas taste test to see whether it’s worth saving or splurging on your festive food shop.

And finally, the wonderful Emma Napier from Bravura joins us to share her story on how she fell into finance, what career she would choose if she won a million pounds, and her thoughts on how to split a £100 budget for Christmas!

In true That Mint Podcast style, the ‘liquidy’ mulled wine is flowing, so grab a glass yourself and tune in for some festive finance fun. Merry Christmas from us all, and see you in the new year!
